I finished a long time ago, but forgot about posting them until tonight. Corrections are based on the "Phil Keaggy: Acoustic Sketches" songbook. Tab note corrections are marked with an asterisk. The corrections are offered in order of increasing measure number. Measures 1 and 2: these are basically notes written into the staff notation but skipped in the tablature. In fact, in measure 2 the G# note is indicated, but way down at the first fret. I thought fret 9 was more reasonable. e|--12-----10-----------7--|--------------------| B|-------------------------|--------10--8p7-----| G|-------------------------|--------------------| D|------0------------0-----|---------0-------0--| A|---------------9*--------|-----9*-------------| E|---0--------0------------|--0---------0-------| Measures 9,10,11: missing ties between a few of the notes in the staff notation: between the E's at the end of 9 and beginning of 10, and between the high G's and A's in 11. Measure 14: another omitted note in the tab. e|---------------------| B|-10*--8--------------| G|----------9/12-------| D|-----10--------------| A|---------------------| E|--0-------0-----0----| Measure 17: missing the low E on beat 1 in the staff notation. Measures 19&20: more mistypes. Measure 19 is also missing a tie between the E half note and the first E eigth note. e|----------------------|------------------| B|--8-----10--------12--|--10*-------------| G|--9*-----------9*-----|---9--------9-----| D|-----8-------------8--|------8--------8--| A|----------------------|------------------| E|--8---------8---------|---8-----8--------| Note on measure 26: I personally play the low B starting on the 3rd beat, not the second. I don't think Phil actually does this, but it sounds neat. Measure 27: another missing tie, on the G's. Measure 31: missing tab note. e|--3-----0-------------| B|--------------0-------| G|----------------------| D|-----3----------------| A|--1--------1-----0*---| E|----------------------| Measures 36&37: missing tie between E's at end of 36 and beginning of 37. Measures 42&43: a missing tie between the B notes at the end of 42 and the beginning of 43. Measure 45: a missing note in the tab. e|------------------------| B|-----5-------5----------| G|-----6-------6----------| D|--------8----8*---8-----| A|------------------------| E|--5----------5----------| Measure 50: missing tab notes in the bass. e|-----------2------------| B|------------------------| G|--1--2-----------2------| D|--------2---------------| A|--0*----------0*----0*--| E|------------------------| Measures 54&55: missing ties between D#'s and A's at end of 54 and beginning of 55. Measure 59: EITHER both F's should be aligned with the other notes and all quarter notes marked as half notes, OR the tab should read as follows. If memory serves, the tab is what's wrong, but listen for yourself. For completeness, the E's should be half notes in either case. e|------------------| B|----------0-------| G|--8---------------| D|--8-------8-------| A|------7*------7*--| E|--0-------0-------| Measure 61: some very obvious missing tab notes: e|---------------| B|--5*-----------| G|---------------| D|--7*-----------| A|---------------| E|-------12\-----| Most of these are acceptable oversights that don't really change how the piece is performed, especially for those who don't read staff notation. Personally, I don't read it unless I have to! I definitely rely on tab for most fingerings. Some of the missing tab notes are important, especially bass notes. Anyway, I'm sure you'll all rest easier tonight knowing that I faithfully fulfilled my perfectionism. :) Mike significant
