PKC: The Official Newsletter of the Phil Keaggy Club
Volume 5, Number 3, Winter 1998/1999
The Winter 98/99 (Volume 5, number 3) issue of PKC, the
official newsletter of the Phil Keaggy Club, became available in December
1998. Among its 8 glossy pages are the following items:
- Catching Up With Phil
- PKC publisher John Schroeter interviews Phil, basing many of his
questions on mail from fan club members. This is one of the most insightful
PK interviews I've yet seen in print! Spanning four pages, in it
Phil touches on many of the deeper things that inspire his music.
The interview ends with Phil's brief recollections on working with the
luthiers who have built custom acoustic and electric guitars for him.
- Margaret Becker Remembers
- Becker shares a brief story about sharing a bill with Phil.
- Flashback
- An excerpt from a 1975 interview with Phil published in
Guitar Player magazine, discussing his What a Day
album and touring with Peter York (now head of Sparrow Records).
- Song of the Quarter
- Music and tablature for the main theme of "Beneath the Blood-Stained
Lintel," from Phil's newest vocal album, Phil Keaggy.
Of course, the newsletter also includes the latest tour itinerary
and ordering and subscription information, some cool photos and
graphics, and begins with the
now-customary letter from Phil to his fans. If you want to know more about it, well...
join the club!
